I am not a morning person.
Never have been, don’t plan on ever being one.
I really need at least two hours to get going in the morning~ shower, dress, feed the animals, eat breakfast, read the paper, finish my tea, before heading out for the day~ but even then, I don’t feel like all cylinders are firing until about 10:00 am.
Too bad I’m expected to start working at 8:30.
In the past couple months, I’ve been waking up at 5:30 (more commonly known around here as “the butt-crack of dawn”), look at the clock in disgust, & attempt to go back to sleep. A little voice in my head says…
”You could take a walk”
Yeah, right.
But you know what?
After 2 weeks of this nonsense, I did.
Really.
Been getting up & heading out the door by 5:45 am~ not every day, just 3 or 4 mornings a week~ & walking for 35 minutes.
Did you know that the stars are still out at 5:45 am?
Can’t say I’m too fond of it, especially now that it’s gotten cold, but I keep going (unless I talk myself out of it when it’s wet out, or I have to go in early).
Hopefully, I’ll see a difference someday.

I am a morning person and 5.30am is the best time of the day. Everything is new and peaceful so enjoy your walk you never know what you might see in the animal world so early in the day.

I'm with you about the early rising. Maybe that small voice is the Holy Spirit telling you to walk so you can commune with Him. Your obedience will be rewarded. hugs to you, Meg.
That is funny, I thought I was reading about myself. I commend you on walking! And in the dark no less. I live in Wisconsin now and so it is very "butt-cold" as they say around here that I don't even want to get out of bed to go potty!
I don't work in the mornings anymore and told myself that I must force myself to find a morning job soon in that if I don't I will get worse as time goes by. I began to walk my daughter to school every morning, and got the day started for a few weeks after we moved out here but now are you kidding me? It takes me so long to get ready. I like to read my email, sip my coffee, go to Facebook, check the bank balances, piddle around with feeding the dogs and cats and letting them in and out and yes that does take two hours all in itself.
I hear ya.
Glad to see you blogging again, it has been too long friend.
